Last year Manchester's Freak Slug released singles 'Nostalgia' (with Brad Stank and Dwyer), as well as 'Eazy Peazy'. Freak Slug's bedroom pop becomes more refined as time goes on, becoming more catchy and full with every release. Marking her first release of 2022, she has just dropped 'Out of the Blue' alongside a music video that centres around Freak Slug's 90s aesthetic and some snippets of conceptual dance. Indie guitar strums open the track, Freak Slug's vocals drenched in shoegaze reverb. The hooky line 'Out of the blue, nothing can stop me' may well be swirling around your head for the rest of the day.
